Born and raised in Singapore by English-Australian ex-pat parents, Sally moved to Perth when she was 11 years old. Soon afterwards, she was accepted into the very first intake of specialist Drama students at John Curtin College of the Arts, receiving five years of tuition from many Perth theatre luminaries.
She completed a Bachelor degree in Social Science and then moved overseas for nearly twenty years, living in Switzerland, Malaysia and finally the UK. Whilst in the UK, Sally completed her Licentiate Teachers’ Diploma with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Over the years, she appeared in a number of community theatre productions including leading roles in several highly acclaimed open-air Shakespeare productions in the Chapter Garden of Windsor Castle. She also directed and stage-managed many adult and children’s plays and established a highly successful youth theatre for children aged 8-18 years. Although Sally moved back to Perth in 2005, she regularly returns to the UK to participate in teachers’ workshops at LAMDA as part of her ongoing professional development.
Sally is a vibrant, passionate, intelligent and accomplished actor with an extremely professional and accommodating manner. She always immerses herself fully in the roles she plays, performing consistently with confidence and clarity. From the classics to gritty modern drama, Sally’s natural youthfulness, insight and versatility are positive attributes, allowing her to play a wide range of roles and making her a firm favourite with directors and audiences alike.
